About This Spot

Old Fool Brewery welcomes you like an unexpected find on a quiet stretch just off I-70, where the gentle hum of country life meets the comforting warmth of a close-knit gathering spot. Driving up the steep dirt driveway, marked playfully with quirky signs, you’ll feel the pace slow down—a subtle invitation to shed the day's rush and settle in.

Here, the atmosphere is unpretentious and calm, framed by a spacious porch that offers a serene view of rolling fields. It’s the kind of place where laughter drifts easily between live music sets and where friendly conversations unfold effortlessly over richly crafted beers. The owners bring a genuine warmth that feels more like visiting old friends than making a stop at a brewery.

Food and drink come together as part of the experience rather than just offerings on a menu. Wood-fired pizzas with comforting layers—think melty mac ’n cheese or a classic pepperoni—pair perfectly with a cool, refreshing pint. Whether it’s the crispness of a seasonal brew or the nostalgic comfort of root beer fresh on tap, each sip complements the easygoing vibe that permeates the brewery’s welcoming spaces.

Events here feel like natural extensions of the community, with live music that adds just the right touch of energy without overpowering the relaxed surroundings. Families, road trippers, and locals converge, drawn not only by the quality of the beer and food but by the feeling that this is a pause worthy of repeating on any journey through Newark.

At its heart, Old Fool Brewery isn’t just a stop on the map—it’s a small rural haven where simplicity and sincerity make each visit quietly memorable.

Very cool spot with a beautiful porch, lovely view, good beer, and friendly people. Well worth the detour off I-70 to this rural gem if you're passing through. Added to my pinned places to stop whenever do an XC drive. And yes, you're in the right place if you're driving up a steep dirt driveway with funny signs.

We were happy to be in the area and find this place during our roadtrip! The beer was great and the surroundings were peaceful. Great little spot - the pizza and cheesecake were awesome as well! The owner/operator was super kind. Would love to come back through next time we're in the region.

Delicious as always. The live music was really nice too. The pictures could be better but the kids dove right in!

This is a fantastic little place! The owners are wonderful, the beers are great, and the wood-fired pizza is excellent. They have frequent events and live music as well and the place just has a nice vibe. Which anyone that's been to multiple breweries should appreciate it. Today was my 3rd time there and I will for sure be back again!

Nice place out in the country! Good Selection of beers they also have wine from Stone Crest which was nice! Lot of hoppy IPAs, imperial IPAs and pizza is really good. Tried the Surprise me and it was a surprise! Hot honey sauce, chicken, bacon and Pickles! Pizza is a thin crust, red sauce is a little on sweet side. Love the different selections!
